Karina’s cantina - la jolla

For this vibrant Mexican restaurant, I worked with  ownership to create site specific murals, and painted accents to emphasize a lighthearted and cheerful space. The core inspiration was Frida Kahlo and her menagerie of animals. I painted over and onto an old painting from the very first Karina’s restaurant to ever open, and livened it up with new colorful details. No wall was left untouched -- even the bathroom stalls were painted!
